I just got back from spending a week in Orlando. On Monday, I went to Universal Studios. Of course, that's also where Nickeloden Studios is where a lot of shows in the 1990's were filmed. I asked what the tour was and they said, all it was was you go to the "Game Lab" and watch people play Double Dare type games but not on actual TV.
I remember visiting Universal Studios in the mid 1990's and they took you into the studios and you got to see the set of Clarissa Explains it All and Figure It Out.
The worker said that they don't take you up to that are anymore because no shows are being filmed there anymore.
So they built this giant studio and all it's used for is to walk through the Slime Time Live indoor set and you sit in some bleachers for 20 minutes at the Gamelab and watch kids answer Jimmy Neutron trivia questions or watch kids bounce playground balls across the floor plain .
All these great shows used to be filmed there and now the whole building is basically vacant. Even worse, when you walk in there are advertisements for new shows one of which is some new comedy which I'm sure will be great (sarcasm).
On the way out, near the Slime Gyser, there's a time capsule that says it will be opened in 2042 (50 years after it was buried) as a gift to the kids of the future. Somehow, I don't think the Studio will be standing anywhere close to that time.
