Is an MPH a terminal degree that doesn't require further education? Would it be better to get pursue a PhD in Public Heatlh/Health Policy or to just stick with the MPH?

I am going to apply to the UT-Houston Medical Branch.

I am also a student, so perhaps someone w/ relevant work experience can comment. But from my perspective, a MPH is good enough if you have a medical degree. It is also enough if you want to work in industry. However, if you want to pursue research or academics, a PhD is a prerequisite. MPH and PhD depends on your specific background and career aspirations.

I am not going for an MD, so it would be better to go for the PhD, right?
