Rank: Currently in a three way tie for valedictorian out of a class of 500
Grade: Junior
Ethnicity: White
Income: Middle class
Relevant Coursework:
9th Grade:Honors World Studies, Honors English
10th Grade:AP Psychology, AP Statistics
11th Grade:AP US History,AP Chemistry,AP English Language
12th Grade schedule:
AP English Literature, AP Physics, AP Biology, AP Spanish, AP United States Government
I have also participated in orchestra every year in high school.
AP Test Scores:
5s in everything from sophomore to junior year. I also got 5s from self-studying for AP European history and AP calculus AB this year. So 7 5s total so far.
SAT 1: 800 CR, 780 M, 800 W
SAT 2: 800 Math 2, 800 US History, 790 Chemistry
PSAT: 80 Math, 80 Critical Reading, 76 Writing
(took each test only once)
Extracurricular Activities:
-Track team 7th grade to present (won varsity letter in 9th grade)
-cross country team from 8th grade to present (won "most improved" in 10th grade, will probably get varsity letter this year)
-Key Club (won a varsity letter for doing over 100 hours of community service, through tutoring, doing key club stuff, and helping disaster victims)
-Played viola for 8 years.
-Participated in the Washington All State Orchestra last year. (aiming for All Northwest this year)
-Violist in quartet that won first place in the regional ensemble contest
-Principle Violist of the Evergreen Music Festival Orchestra
-Member of Youth Symphony Association for 7 years (if all goes well I will be the principle violist my senior year)
-President of NHS (I am planning doing a big service project with NHS this year, as the organization at my school has been stagnant)
-Captain of Knowledge Bowl Team that won 2nd at the State Tournament
-Captain of the Math Team that took first in the state tournament for the team project part of the contest
-Planning on volunteering for the Obama campaign 50 hours over the summer, then 2.5 hours per Saturday
Awards/Honors
-Won Junior High Orchestra and English Department Awards
-111 in AMC 12, 7 in AIME, school winner of AMC 3 years in a row
-Presidential Fitness Award in 9th Grade
-3rd place in Thorbeck Viola Competition for my region
-probably will be National Merit Scholar Finalist
-1st Place in the "Our Own Words" short story contest in 9th grade (county-wide contest with about 1000 participants)

-Evergreen Music Festival
-Max Aronoff Viola Institute Summer camp
Work experience...?
-did yard work for my viola teacher to pay for lessons because my parents aren't very rich

Also your essay to the Ivy's should all be excellent. Besides that, by spring time, you should be doing reading outside of school to balance peoples ambitions, with realism.
