in terms of silicon valley and internet/high tech leaders in general, stanford leads the world and lays claim to google, yahoo, and a bunch of other high stakes industry leaders. if you want to bring in the category of drop-outs, harvard = microsoft and reed = apple. but stanford's the solid industry leader.
yale's the indisputable leader in law, which prestige-mongerers naturally gravitate toward, but in my experience if anything it's at most a hair above stanford in terms of prestige among the very prominent. |
