I'm a Florida resident and UF would be SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper, but Fordham is ranked much better and I have a slight draw to NYC. Are the loans I'll be paying back going to be relieved by my Fordham degree or is UF the smarter choice in the end?

Though this thread might be more suited to the law board, I can understand someone's reluctance to take the abuse over there. Here's my standard advice: All else being equal, always attend the best school that you can *possibly* afford.
Is all else equal? Not if you're bound and determined to work in Florida; but it doesn't sound like you are. In that case, Fordham is it.
Good luck in making your choice. Whichever school you choose, read "Planet Law School" beforehand (take it with a grain of salt, especially its cynical tone, but read it), and take LEEWS (leews.com).

are you getting any $$$ from UF at least?
If not, choose Fordham.
Also might I ask what other schools you were accepted to? What UG did you go to? Numbers? I ask because I'm a FL student myself and I might be able to help.

I attended Fordham Law and now owe somewhere in the neighborhood of $180k. I don't regret a single penny as Fordham is a great school with truly impressive faculty that actually cares whether or not the students are learning. However, Fordham suffers from being in Columbia and NYU's back yard, so while biglaw does recruit fairly heavily from Fordham, they're only taking the very top of the class. Fordham is not necessarily a ticket straight to biglaw.
If your draw to New York is only slight, I'd be inclined to recommend you save your money. If you're serious about living and working in NYC, Fordham is a great way to spend your money.

Actually, the last stats I saw had 49% of F's graduating class working in firms with 101 or more attorneys...
