I avoided this film when it first came out because I'm not a fan of gore, but I finally decided to watch it and it was far better than I expected.
Curious how many of you would have kept fighting to survive after watching your own kid murdered in front of you and being so injured that survival seemed almost impossible? I personally would have been happy to go and likely not fought back. But how to kill self remains the question. Starve self, bleed to death or just wait it out?

Horrific story. I'd never go into bear territory without spray and a rifle. Even that won't save you if it hits you from behind, like what allegedly happened to Hugh Glass in The Revenant.
I thought the bear attack came later in the movie. It caught me off guard, especially that the worst part of the mauling happens after the bear has already been shot.
