dates 2-3: we went out to dinner to places not within walking distance of either of our apartments, and we were both getting off at different metro stops. i think doing a first kiss as you pull into a stop has the potential to be a bit awkward. also, we just went directly from dinner to the metro both times (she had plans with her sister after both dates) and didn't get drinks/walk around/hold hands or do too much to build intimacy beforehand. kind of awkward to dive into the first kiss without that sort of intimacy buildup IME.
dates 4-5 were more relaxed (walking around a park, eastern market, etc). |

Works almost all the time bc they aren't expecting it; it's also dominant and opens the possibility to further escalation at the end of the date. Very little downside because a girl is going to err on the side of letting you kiss her if she hasn't made up her mind that she's not into you, which she is more likely to do if she has an opportunity to think about it, as she will prior to the end-of-date kiss. Plus if she's already kissed you she's likely to engage in after-the-fact rationalization of the behavior, which will often get her to like you more.
Also in the unlikely event that she does balk you can bail early. |
