I'm the complete opposite.
I never 'got' gaming when I was a kid, but I'm super into it now.

i used to play them all and enjoy my time even if the game wasnt great
now unless the game is absolutely amazing i hate every second
also i REFUSE to do ANY kind of grinding and will cheat levels/gold/etc the second i smell a whiff of grinding
i find myself being more into games of skill like Hunt Showdown which give the user a lot of room for expression and has a high skill ceiling

The games just got bad. They are all roguelike skinner boxes or absolute slop. A lot of games also could be good but are completely ruined by monetization. E.g. I bought NBA2K during a standout year and it was really solid but I didn't have a lot of time to play it. I go back like a year later to do the story mode and it's literally GONE because they do everything server-side so they can sell you points to level your player and they turned the servers off. For a mode that can be played entirely single-player if you want.
If you go back and play the games you liked before though, most of them are still good. Saros is coming out soon and will definitely be good.

i tried it and it felt asian/gay
ive never played a moba in my life, everyone was talking about jungles, no clue wtf that means
i found myself shooting npcs for coins then chasing people around the map and people who know more doing secret rooms and winning everything
felt gay imo

FF Tactics was a great game, no doubt about it. afaik you're just playing a remaster, or perhaps a Remake. Remakes and Remasters are endemic in the current State of Gaming.
Good script btw. as in good translation:
"Don't blame us. Blame yourself or God."
"Most people have to act the roles given to them... Then again, most of them haven't even noticed they're even acting."
"Animals have no God!"
"Governments falsify history only so it favours them. But you can't blame them. Because people always hope for a 'miracle'. Endlessly complaining, lazy, nuisances... that's what the masses really are. Governments give the people what they want... and history repeats itself. Governments might well have taken advantage of their insecurity... but then again, people are satisfied being used... 'God' is nothing but an image created out of their insecurity. It's their fault for knowing they're comfortably numb, and not doing anything about it."
"Get in the way, get killed. "
