If anything, some women believe that men SHOULD care more about their (women's) careers, which they see as a reflection of their character, which they think men should care about. So if you do see women saying, "but but but I'm highly educated and accomplished, why don't men like me?" they mean it rhetorically. They don't actually expect that. |
