You do it so you don’t stand in someone else’s line and leave spike marks and in general it makes the putting order flow more naturally. Right of continuation is a thing that Rory would have normally done had he not wanted to gloat by having the final putt and also to give Cam Young a quiet look at what would have been a very expensive putt for him to miss. Just seems like a huge waste of time waiting and messing with ball makers
I get not messing with someone's line but that seems rare. Most non-cc greens are sps anyway and I've never seen any stranger I was paired with fix a ball mark one time |
