you're telling me that punters who spend their entire childhoods and developmental periods doing nothing but training their leg non-stop don't also become top placekickers? crazy to have to waste a second roster spot on a specialist who does such a close discipline. some punters already do kickoffs as it is, why can't they also do field goals.

if there was a dood who was good enough at both he might do it but even then theyre each other's backup and these days in the nfl the punter is the holder.
what i used to think was weird was long snappers. seems that its just that important to have a guy really good at each of these positions
