It’s the single biggest issue of our civilization. WW1 murdered Western civilization and it has been rotting ever since
The West used to confidently spread the light of enlightenment and civilization across the globe then completely lost faith in itself and God after World War I
Until we reconcile the unholy brutality of modern war with the notion of a loving, redemptive God, we will be vulnerable to the slings and arrows of evildoers
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

"completely lost faith in itself and God after World War I"
Sleepwalking since Verdun, as Walker Percy said...
"Until we reconcile the unholy brutality of modern war with the notion of a loving God, we will be vulnerable to the slings and arrows of evildoers"
I think C.S. Lewis understood this very well, the way he described his WW1 experiences in Surprised by Joy.
