Psychiatrists can also bill at higher rates depending on whether you want drugs or not. So whatever they bill for visits, they're guaranteed to 4x that every year for every patient who wants drugs. The main issue keeping psychiatry from being the most difficult is that you're dealing with literal crazies who dump their emotions onto you all day. It's really hard to keep yourself emotionally detached from the crazies you deal with. You're not sticking fingers up people's asses, but instead you're talking to an endless stream of emotionally volatile people who have attempted suicide several times.
Also, there's the stigma with mental health. |
