You forgot the fact that scandi minnesotans largely define themselves in contradistinction to comparatively less-cucky germanic wisconsinites, and as such their archrivals are the packers, who are like the notre dame of the nfl in that they basically invented the sport and have a dozen pre-Super bowl titles and then a half-dozen SB wins.
The Pack, in turn, does not view the vikings as their sole rival as they also have a hot rivalry with the bears. There is nothing more embarrassing than an unrequited rivalry (this is also vicious in the harvard-yale context). |

Jags super pointless; jets are the "clown franchise"; Boy I Love Losing Superbowls; cardinals/panthers/browns are sort of a "tier" in my mind.

I don't think it's remotely accurate to say that the browns and bills don't have fans; what the fuck else is there to be proud of or root for in those towns? (This factor actually ends up being a knock on the vikings, as they're a legit major market.)
