We were chilling on the beach at about 11:00 am when all of a sudden there was a big commotion in the water about 50 yards away. A couple people eventually pull out a non-responsive chick. They do CPR on her for a bit, but she was dead as a door nail.
After that buzzkill, we decided to head back to our rooms to do some blow to lift our spirits. We do a couple lines and head out the balcony that overlooks the street to smoke a blunt. There was a guy working on a utility pole, and all of sudden there was a loud bang, and the gut falls off the pole. He was just dangling on his safety tether, lifeless. His co-employees didn't seem to be too concerned.
We then retreated back to the room and blew more coke. |

I even forgot about it shortly after the trip and didn't remember it until several years later when I was talking to a guy who works on power lines. I immediately called one of my bros to confirm that it actually happened and it wasn't some strange, drug induced false memory. When I asked him about it, he lost his shit because he had completely forgotten about it too until my call.
We were so fucked up on drugs, it didn't really register at the time, and it still seems unreal, like something I watched on TV. |
