I don't "get" people who watch podcasts and influencers

But there are people who watch a livestream for four hours of this? of viewers sending "supertexts" and then he makes fun of them?
I did try to listen to Red Scare once and I didn't make it more than 8 minutes through. it's just an hour of people saying uhh, ummm, ok, likkkkkke. It makes me long for the days of scripted tv where they at least knew what they were going to say
This is possibly my most Gen X opinion btw. |

Brown people all have continuous always-on conversations happening on their phones at all hours of the day. You can hear them chattering away to each other in whatever dirt language. I think they have a physiological need for this or something, like it evolved because in the tropics you need to keep each other awake with idle chatter or else you'll fall asleep in the hot sun and get burned, idk
Anyways podcasts are white people's version of this. Our somewhat more advanced brains require some level of actual substance and "podcasts" etc offer juuust enough of it to meet our brain's needs. There's probably some natural curiosity at play too. Hearing Joe Rogan talking to some guy about how crocodile jaws open to the exact angle that the sun hits the pyramids during the equinox engages the part of our brain that was always trying to solve problems like how to preserve more food during the cold European winters in order to survive |

what *DO* you do? listen to dense audiobooks on heady topics? sometimes funny slop is good too. especially if you're listening casually while doing other things.
i do think political influencers like fuentes are pretty retarded -- why would grown men be "influenced" by someone like that? i do like his highlight reels when he's being funny. couldn't listen to him bloviate solo for hours though. however i will listen to MSSP when i'm doing work and would like some semi-mindless entertainment. |

There was a sam altman doing the rounds recently that's worth listening to. I think it's worth it when there's a specific person or topic but I wouldn't listen to some random person's musings on whatever on a regular basis.
