for stretches of my life yeah. i've traveled and worked prole jobs and been around very few other smart people
it mostly sucks. you get pretty lonely. being the smartest guy in the room every single time is only cool and satisfying for a little while and then you get over it. your friendships with less intelligent people are still enjoyable and meaningful, but they're always missing the deep connection that makes friendship so special

well yeah, of course. i'm not "blaming" anyone or anything, and i'm not regretful of the life choices i've made. just replying to the OP
there are trade offs involved with being around mostly other smart people, too. i washed out of academia because i couldn't stand how dweeby and shitlib everyone was. "prole" regular people are much more enjoyable to be around on a day to day basis - you're just not ever going to be able to form deep connections with them if you're smart, which is what life is all about imo
i've always valued Online primarily because it's where all the smart people congregate and hang out in the modern digital age. all but 2 of my best irl friends have been people i've directly or indirectly met via Online, too

this is what people who aren't actually smart think. not trying to be a dick. sorry
there's an openness to others and an ability and willingness to understand the subjective experiences of others that isn't possible below a certain intelligence threshold. below this threshold, humans are only able to project themselves onto other people. that's all their brains can do
because human beings are all mostly similar to each other, and because humans below this threshold aren't capable of detecting differences in each others subjective experiences, this goes unnoticed by everyone below the threshold
if you ever closely observe social interactions between regular normies, you'll notice that there's very little if any interplay or curiosity or interest about the other party. they're basically just talking 'at' each other

this is how interactions between smart and not smart people typically go. here is a direct link to the post above in which i explained that smart people can still have meaningful friendships with regular people, they just won't ever achieve deep connections with them:
http://www.autoadmit.com/thread.php?thread_id=5768475&forum_id=2#49228308
you didn't read or internalize this, because you don't actually care about me, my own subjective experience, or anything i have to say, or even this conversation itself. you are only capable of thinking and caring about your own experience. you're talking 'at' me. you rattled off a whole paragraph about yourself that isn't responsive to the discussion at all
i could probably hang out with you irl and spend time chatting about and engaging in whatever our shared interests are, and we'd have a mutually enjoyable time. but we'd never form a deep connection because i psychologically exist in a completely different reality than you
this is what it is like for smart people to be around regular people. i'm not complaining, i'd still rather be smart than not. i'm just responding to the OP and describing what the experience is like as best i can

Yes. Well over 125 from a professionally-administered test as part of an autism assessment.
I do not seek out "peer intelligences." Why would I? It seems like a lot of effort for little to no gain. It's not like they're more entertaining.
