Average NFL game had 5.2 TDs and 3.6 field goals in 2025 - so about 9 scores
Average premier league has 2.75 scores - so NFL has 3x as much scoring.

Wrong.
The reasons field goals are relevant is because there were exciting plays before it that then are given meaning by the field goal.
Maybe there was a spectacular punt return, a 35 year old deep bomb, a running back breaking 4 tackles. You might not get the full 7 points, but you get something for those efforts. Contrast that with soccer, where even though i don't think the play is that exciting, if you are arguing that there are these amazing non-goal plays - almost none of them actually matter.
To that point, there's nothing inherently intersting about a TD or a goal either. Half of all TDs are like the least interesting play on the drive.
And half or more of soccer goals aren't that interesting - its just random bounces. You can't even see who kicked it half the time as a viewer. It's a huge negative IMO that the strategy of "the beautiful game" seems to be "let's kick the ball at someone's head and maybe it will bounce funny and go in". It's just not as strategic as a QB trying to purposefully float a ball into a 1 foot opening in the back of the end zone.

People are not typically complaining about a 3-2 soccer match dude.
If nfl games routinely ended 0-0 with no real TD threats and maybe just a pair of missed FGs on each side, yes ppl would say that sucks ass.

Another relevant stat - approximately 35% of Premier League games end up with one or both teams scoring 0 goals.
In the NFL, shutouts are 2.5%.
So in soccer you are 15X more likely to tune in and not see your team score once.

Soccer is just boring as shit. Football is simply a better more exciting more intricate game with explosive plays and big moments.
Maybe if they tripled the net length it would be more interesting idk but the soccer “plays” with three guys passing it or whatever are nothing in comparison to football plays which require the effort of the entire team

I could hardly think of a bigger difference between sports supposedly 1 scoring play apart. Possessions are different. Scoring choices are different (point after vs 2pt conversion).
The best part of soccer was that it was a calm and enjoyable sport you could watch for 45 minutes at a time without any commercials, but now there are commercials.
