But in all seriousness, the problem with being a diesel mechanic is everything is heavy. Much better to do maintenance and restoration work on classics, but that requires actual skill and knowledge. |

Date: July 4th, 2016 7:33 PM Author: onyx cheese-eating degenerate site The last all mechanical diesels are 20+ years old. Is most of what you see old cats and mechanical DT466, I guess that is possible if you are servicing work trucks but 99% of OTR trucks I see are newer.
There is not much that actually goes wrong on the old ones. Injection pump rebuild and injector replacement which is really maintance not withstanding. Probably doing stuff like transmission work, brake work, hydraulic work and electrical -- all of which must suck.
Anything newer with a computer and sensors is a piece of shit. |
