What if, when western Europe was undergoing its faggy "enlightenment," Russians were trapped behind a kind of iron curtain that prevented them from expressing their whiteness? What made Peter the Great so great, literally, was his ability to connect with western audiences, and help white Russians establish lines of communication and study with western whites. He gave white Russians their first opportunity to get caught up with what other whites were doing.
But prior to that time it's not like Russians weren't learning. They didn't exactly have a golden age while they were occupied by the Golden Horde, but they weren't not taking notes. A lot of people would say they learned warfare from the Golden Horde, so let's start right there. When's the last time it was smart to fight a land war against Russia?
Russia also learned diplomacy from the Mongols. Many would say the Mongols did diplomacy even better than they did warfare, and it was a Russia spy named Richard Sorge who LITERALLY won WWII for Stalin by assuring him it was safe to pull troops from the east to defend Moscow in December 1941. Sorge could read Jap minds, and he knew Japan would NOT invade eastern Russia. He kept telling Stalin "it's safe! Fucking do it!" and he was right. Japan bombed Pearl Harbor instead lol
