There has never been a console with so few games. 3DO had more games. Saturn had 1,100k games.

N64 Cartridge: 75mm x 116mm x 18mm

Bankers box: 335mm x 441mm x 266mm

Meaning a bankers box can fit roughly 250 N64 games. Basically all of them. Jfc.

The Sega Saturns entire US library (264 games) could fit in a single case logic cd case. Your point?

N64 had 388 games in the US HTH

Japanese games that you can't understand don't count IMHO. Just a cheap "running up the score" gimmick. Oh wow, a couple dozen shitty shhmups with Japanese gibberish, oh what a console!

Not to mention the cultural significance of the n64 - possibly the most culturally significant console ever IMO

How many 180 memories with your bros does anyone have on the Saturn, or even PS1 or PS2 for that matter?

N64 had actual formative memories on par with someone's first kiss for millions of people

296 for the N64 in the US. Lol

Culturally significant? Whatever it is it hasn’t penetrated the internet zeitgeist. You and your opiate friends can do you and enjoy your “culture” of drug overdoses haha

Millions of people have memories of staying up until 4am with their friends playing N64. Happily changing social plans to just hang out with friends and play n64 for insane amounts of hours at a time. There has never been a more significant local multiplayer console ever.

Ocarina of time, Mario 64, goldeneye, Mario kart, f zero, and smash brothers alone ruin any argument you had against the console. Even pilot wings, 1080 and wave race. All were complete triumphs that we all treasure and that pioneered the genres

Most of these people are dead from fentanyl, doodikoff. And the Nintendo fandom will tell you they prefer GameCube/smash bros and idk fucking timesplitters. Zoomers are intimidated by n64 bc it’s so high-T. PlayStation zealots have been saying “no games” and dropping the mic for 29 years. It’s over.

Gamecube Smash Bros was epic and nerds still have live tournaments playing that version, unfair comparison.

As much as I love the Gamecube, nothing on it touched the pioneering awesomeness of the N64 classics (other than maybe Rogue Squadron games). N64 was a classic and had far more cultural significance and drop dead amazing classics of multiple genres, face it.

Super Mario 64 was perhaps the biggest WTF game in history, people couldn't believe its graphics, and its gameplay still holds up today (and so many games are modeled after it) - its the ultimate platformer - simply genius. Goldeneye was mind blowing at th etime it was released, unthinkably awesome. Mario Kart 64 was a level of fun in a group never achieved by any other game. etc etc etc.

You can't say that about a single PS1 title. not one.

You never hear people talking about memories of epic late nights playing PS1 with their bros, like, ever.
