The second recession they faced (Covid) actually boomed their assets even further. Boomers and Gen X faced wealth crushing recessions every 8-10 years in the first couple of decades of their careers. In the end boomers are doing great but during time as 30-45 year olds the US stock market and economy was pretty mediocre.
