The quick summary is that there's a drought and an active war makes infrastructure development difficult. No shit. This isn't limited to Russian held parts of Ukraine.

So how do you explain exactly the same shit on the Ukrainian side? The original Russian articles note that a lot of the areas in question are post-2022 capture so Russia would have had to build canalization while fighting a war (not feasible). Ukraine never built proper irrigation either.

it’s not “exactly” the same thing

russia destroyed the reservoir (the stupid part) and now the land they control is reverting back to nature because they don’t have the resources to maintain it (that’s the poor part)

Ukraine destroyed the dam and you know that because when it blew the Ukrainians had already evacuated everyone and the Russians had no idea it was about to blow so they didn't. Initially the Ukrainians (as usual) presented this as "omg, Russians are now fucked" since their defenses got flooded, but that turned out to be total bullshit. Still, they launched the Krinky lolfenssive after that and got their asses kicked.

In any event, since the issue is lack of canalization on the lands (including the regions of Ukraine still temporarily held by Ukraine that I linked to above), none of this has anything to do with anything. Ukraine didn't build irrigation infrastructure and since Russia acquired that land during a very hot war, it'll take a few years after Russia captures Ukraine for them to build that infrastructure. For now, they're digging trenches instead of canals.

Yeah, no way to get a remote-controlled drone boat there. None at all. By the way, the dam was already weakened and wasn't being maintained so it wouldn't take all that much. By the way, Russia had no motivation to destroy the dam, while Ukraine had an entire plan ready to go (Krinky).

As for Russia "not being able to build" that is ironic considering that all of this infrastructure was built when Kiev was a regional capital and Moscow was in charge of all of these construction projects. No real infrastructure was built since Ukrainian independence. No, girls working for OnlyFans doesn't count as infrastructure, TDNW.

The structure was significantly weakened from considerable shelling from both sides. It was known by everyone that it required repairs that weren't made. It didn't take much to see it crumble. Again, you keep glossing over the motivations and behavior here which are entirely one-sided.

That wheat was GMO shitwheat, unfit for human consumption. That's why Ukraine exported it to Africa instead of Europe. I assume Russians don't want to eat it either and are making no effort to grow it.

Because all the transit lines to Africa are wiped out. None of it can be exported. Ukraine doesn't even have grain silos along the railways that run to the ports. Europe agreed to import some last year, but the wheat is so shitty they banned imports again this year.

I'm saying Russia has no interest in digging irrigation canals or farming dat wheat. Let Ukrainians cry about drought or whatever, that's not Russia's problem. As long as Africans are getting enough wheat this year, Russia won't get blamed for any wheat shortages. Russia could be supplying them with wheat out of their own domestic supply at this point.
