around the mid-aughts, like most of the internet, they started trying to monetize and cracking down on non-shitlib bullshit. accelerating with drumpf won in 2016, of course. the mainstream subs are pure shitlib garbage. there's still a handful of pretty good subs, but they often get banned for new reason, so people are very careful not to say any wrongspeak that'll rile the admins up, so even those spaces kinda suck now. |
