Nvidia invested 99% of their effort into redesigning the PCB:

The actual chips are the same chips they were making before, with more cooling and tighter spacing between the GPU and the RAM. The jank connector on the back makes this look like a goddamn Jetson that they reconfigured to fit in a gaming PC. The Switch 2 motherboard doesn't have anything that looks like that.

it's so lame how they're all about DLSS and framegen now. DLSS is just OK as a compromise for the gargantuan compute required for path/ray tracing, but it isn't something that should be the core tenet of your marketing.

and framegen hardly even makes sense. the utility of high framerates is low latency and increased responsiveness. increasing latency to generate "more frames" is absurd.

I don't believe framerates matter for anything but competitive online tournaments where people snipe each other. And in that case I assume you want all graphics set to the lowest level, so that you can detect movement more easily. I don't understand why it's possible to enable lens flare and chromatic aberration in any game. What prompted anyone to think gamers wanted that?

every video game should be at least 60fps, even if it is single player. it makes a dramatic difference. but we don't need this weird "120 fps in cyberpunk at 4K but not really haha but still kinda looks like it I guess"

I think you can make a case for 120hz being the ceiling. I don't think 144hz and up do much. 60, 30 and 24 also divide evenly into 120, so the math is cr.
