You can get pretty solid performance with a 3060/3070 (or less) now, and you can find refurb gaming PCs with these things in them for like $400 and under now. No modern games won't run on these cards. These will even run VR pretty well.
Steam also has insanely good sales all the time.
Are Console's done here? Should Xbox team up with Steam to make a Steam Box and just call it a day?

cr, most developers are targeting their games to at least run on a steam deck
you only need the most powerful if you want to do 4k ray-tracing

The lack of good exclusive games for consoles definitely makes it a better choice. Even the rare decent exclusive games can often be emulated and run better on the PC (zelda switch games).
