At that point we weren't quite "fur baby" level obsessed, but the dog was probably pretty close to the center of our lives.
A couple of kids later, and the dog is...a dog. Love the dog dearly but its a complete after thought compared to the kids.
I'm sure once my kids are older i'll revert to caring for a dog as if its a child - but its pretty obvious dogs are just placating the human desire for real children. |
