I read an article about this onece. I forget the numbers, but kids basically never play outdoors in most yards. That holds true as yards get bigger -- up until something like 3 acres. Above that, the more land, the more time kids spend outside.

But there's also this yuge misconception people have. They think if the houses in the neighborhood are expensive, the schools are better funded. That's not true, but don't tell that to the people buying these homes. They are going whole hog on these tiny shiuty5 houses without researching this stuff. Lawyers even.

This actually prompted a separate thread I did a few days ago about a trash can. When i looked at the school he was talking about, the first thing I noticed was the playground was wide open to the public and has an overflowing trash can. That was the school he was in the lottery for. I lost it when I saw that trash can but didn't say anything. I just took pics before I left and meditated on them.

The only reason this shit intrigues me is because of all the shenanigans people would have been pulling if this was how things worked where I came up. Before we knew what condoms were, we found used ones at the playgrounds that people got into at night, and that was in middle school. These rich idiots made an elementary school playground open to the public 24/7. The only rule is no dogs. There were overflowing trash cans when I saw it. It looks like some rich asshole wanted to build a playground for his kids and decided to put it on the school property. Spaceporn could sit there on the swings, motionless, from 6am to 6pm on a school day. Legally. He could bring some KFC with him and throw the used boxes in the trash can. His law firm may have funded it, because what broke ass school would say no to a free playground?
