Date: April 2nd, 2025 2:00 AM Author: caitlin clark basically, the 1 seeds duke-houston-florida-auburn significantly outperformed other teams over the course of the season. if you look at kenpom's all-time net ratings, those 4 teams are in the top 10 since kenpom began. (so, what, almost 30 years?)
this also passes the eye test. those four teams have been unbelievably dominant over the course of the year. each have peaked at different times, but they have all dominated their respective conferences. duke only lost one game in the acc. houston hasn't lost a game in 4 months and won the big 12. auburn dominated the sec the first half of the year and has the most quad 1 wins of any team, ever. and florida dominated the last few weeks of the regular season and won the historically strong sec conference tournament. and even just watching them play they all looked noticeably stronger than other teams.
so... the four top teams are legitimately head and shoulders above everyone else. none of them were unbeatable in the tournament, but its not surprising that all four one seeds made it to the final four.

So those ended up being two of my biggest interests. I played basketball for years. I would also argue that basketball is the most exciting of the mainstream sports. Im not really into the nba bc its fucking retarded, but i LOVE college basketball. The only two sports I really follow closely are basketball and womens gymnastics.
