Take for example that Reactor 3 continued to operate until the year 2000 and it was housed in the same building as Reactor 4. 25 years ago there were people going to work every day in the unit next to the melted reactor and nothing has ever happened to them.
People still work in Reactor 2 as well. It's a switchboard for the electrical grid that moves electricity around. The sarcophagus was successful in containing it. |
