The more I use AI, the more I start to hate it

What are you looking for and what ecosystems are you already in? They're all advancing very quickly.
The 3/4 obvious choices:
- Gemini: if you like Google it is a no brainer. You can get an advanced AI plan for like $5/month from Verizon or other places.
- Perplexity: you can get 1 year of premium for free (just Google it) and it uses several llms. The best thing about perplexity is that it also has comet which is an agentic browser, so you can have it tell you if something goes on sale or whatever.
- Copilot: if you like Microsoft this is essentially their version of ChatGPT. My wife likes O365 so I got a 1 year family version that included premium Copilot.
- Grok is another one to consider if you want one to talk shit about illegal immigrants with.

Going from zero AI usage to integrating it into your daily routine is like hiring a tireless personal assistant, a researcher, and a creative partner all at once.
Here are five of the most impactful ways AI can improve and automate your life:
1. Intelligent Information Synthesis
Instead of reading through dozens of articles or long emails, you can use AI to summarize complex information instantly. Whether it's a 50-page PDF for work or a long chain of family emails, AI can extract the key action items and main points in seconds.
2. Hyper-Efficient Content Creation
AI removes the "blank page" problem. It can draft emails, cover letters, or even difficult texts to friends. By providing a few bullet points, you can generate a polished first draft, allowing you to spend your time editing for tone rather than building from scratch.
3. Personalized Learning and Problem Solving
Think of AI as a tutor available 24/7. If you’re stuck on a home repair, a coding error, or a complex math problem, you can describe the situation in plain language. AI can provide step-by-step instructions, explain "why" something works, and adapt its explanation until you understand.
4. Advanced Scheduling and Planning
AI can automate the logistics of life. You can ask it to create a 7-day meal plan based on what's in your fridge, generate a travel itinerary tailored to your specific interests, or even draft a workout routine that fits your exact equipment and schedule.
5. Seamless Creative Collaboration
AI acts as a brainstorming partner. If you're planning a party, naming a business, or looking for gift ideas, AI can generate hundreds of creative suggestions instantly. It helps you explore "what if" scenarios and find connections you might have otherwise missed.
For example, AI just saved me several minutes...

Assuming this is accurate and you never get anything new then you can avoid AI I guess.

"I have no interest in new stuff"
This is pretty key here. Personally, I'm very interested in new stuff.

It has very little to do with status at this point. You think I bought a solar array and whole house backup battery "for status?" I'll prove it: my recent car purchase was a Ford Mustang Mach-E GT. Very white trash and not at all prestigious but fun.
But I am simple man with questions like how it works with my charger and all that and AI very efficiently answers it.

The fact that you're taking this as "me bragging" sounds like a you problem. Anyone on XO other than Benzo and crazy Karen can buy the same car. They're being sold at huge discounts because gas is cheap and Americans only want EVs if gas is super expensive and there are huge incentives. The whole house backup thing was related to the tax credit and I live in Florida (lots of sun and hurricanes), but in general is not the sort of thing strivers aspire to ("I want a job as a partner at a V10 law firm, a lambo and a whole home backup system with solar!" - doesn't happen).
