Why are hotels so expensive?

Also, has anyone here ever done anything crazy like gotten a drink at the bar, used the restaurant, swam in the pool, visited the fitness center in one of these crazy hotels before? Remember when hotels used to have even crazier offerings like a gift shop and a florist and maybe a sommelier? lol. Hotels suck. |

Every morning I got a dress shirt on, walked two blocks to the Four Seasons, went upstairs to the conference rooms at 7am and feasted on a $40 hotel breakfast set out for the conference goers. It wasn’t the highest quality foods, but solid eggs and bacon dished out with a real plate and real silverware, and a little fresh fruit. I didn’t have to eat the rest of the day.
