We'd always slow down, switch to a higher frequency siren, and make sure the intersection was clear before proceeding through it.
I can also tell you that there are some absolute assholes who don't want to be inconvenienced and will speed through a light to avoid having to yield to the emergency vehicle. Something tells me a lawyer driving a Porsche is exactly the kind of person who'd do that. |
