She's 40ish, healthy (other than the covid), in good shape, etc. Was starting to feel sick last night. Exhausted and achy all day today. Just tested positive. Should she get paxlovid to feel better soon and maybe enjoy the rest of the holiday week? Or just slide and let do? I'm sure she'll be fine either way. Will she get fine faster with the drug?

the list of conditions that justify it is long. just say you are a smoker or had asthma.

slide and let do

My parents, both in their 70s (one vaxxed, one unvaxxed), got Covid and were prescribed Paxlovid. Neither took it. My dad (vaxxed) was back to normal within 4 days. My mom (unvaxxed) was back to normal within 7 days.

OTOH, I've heard multiple anecdotes from friends' whose parents/relatives took Paxlovid and gotten rebound Covid after 5-6 days, effectively prolonging their illness by 7+ days.

It's a medication made by Pfizer to treat Covid because their vaccine is not effective in preventing it nor diminishing the severity fo symptoms... think about that for a minute.

My wife is very sick and tested positive for covid, so it's real in that sense, at minimum.

i took paxlovid and tested negative after 4 days. a few days later i tested positive again and had really mild symptoms for a couple days, which i was told was the immune system fighting off the leftover rna of the virus that is unable to replicate anymore or something

didnt have any real side effects apart from the funky mouth taste that eating peanut butter fixed but i heard its hard on the kidneys idk

by the time you have bad symptoms (if) its too late to start taking it

have no idea about that drug but i when i had covid i was achy as hell and could barely move for maybe 36 hours but then got better pretty quickly.

i did seem to get some sort of "long covid" though, which i thought was complete flame before
