Date: April 1st, 2025 7:27 PM Author: startled mentally impaired codepig senate I've always been opposed to the recent trend towards this shit, but I was given a gift certificate for christmas so I eventually had to use it, decided to get wingstop since I've never had it and wings travel, the entire experience was dehumanizing, the website was a hellscape of attempts to not let you buy what you want in order to make you buy something else, a much worse experience than normal takeout, like 1000x worse than just calling a place and ordering food, I do not understand how umc people can think this shit is ok, on top of that the food was cold when I got it, as it was from ubereats the time I tried that we need to firebomb the hq's of all of these companies and hang their founders from their necks until they are dead, I hate absolutely every single motherfucker that participates in the delivery economy and I hope you all die a slow death, customers included |

You can get discount gift cards and they send discount codes all the time. A bunch of credit cards will give you free Dashpass. If you live in any remotely urban areas there will be a ton of great little cafes that will deliver really good food to you at a reasonable price. Sure, you can order total trash too like McDonalds, Chipotle, KFC, etc. If you do that then don't blame doordash/uber for the fact that you got garbage delivered.
I also use Instacart a ton and similarly you can get discount gift cards and one of my credit cards gives me free Instacart+. All of this saves a ton of time and effort. |

But it involves getting a baby in her carriage and the dog ready and either walking or driving to a restaurant, ordering, waiting, eating, etc. It is a 2-3 hour affair though it often also gets the evening walk in for everyone. But that's pretty much your evening. Sometimes the weather sucks (we have a huge dog so while there are some restaurants here that will let the dog inside, there's just no space for one that big, plus you don't want to do a super long walk in bad weather), sometimes you're tired, and what you want is good food to get delivered to you so you can chill. Chinese was delivered by the children of the restaurant owners. If you dined in, they would be in a booth doing homework in between orders and observing their elders.
