When everything is a 4 alarm fire in every situation, the average voter starts tuning you out.
It’s like when Kamala spent months calling Trump a literal fascist and Hitler, and then just quietly stepped aside with a few gracious words when she lost. That’s a huge wtf moment for the average person.
Examples:
“Tariffs are the end of American global supremacy, will cause a global depression. Shelves will be empty!”
“The BBB is going to strip the poor of their SNAP and Medicaid leading to their slow painful death. Hundreds of rural hospitals will go out of business all so billionaires can get tax cuts!” Oh wait, it just introduces work requirements and cuts taxes on tips? It eliminates taxes on Social Security for most recipients? Huh.

Underrated issue with Dems is that average Dem voter will vote for a literal donkey for POTUS as long as the donkey is a Dem. They see Dem pols winning = them winning.
GOP base voters see their party as a means to an end. If they deliver and/or do what they want, they will vote GOP. If not, they'll stay home or even vote Dem. No Dem will ever vote GOP. Trump is an exception somewhat, but he routinely backtracks on things he thinks his base wants.
Then you have obvious issue that a huge chunk of Dem base are insane on stuff like trans kids and DEI.
altogether, Dem strategy works when they have some unifying other to run against, like Trump, but otherwise they're limpdicked.
