People who think this way are really confused. What actually happens in the event of AI doing everything cheaper and better than every human is humans just stop existing. These "economists" manage to get it backwards and think it means that AI (at this point, the entirety of "the economy") stops existing. But no, obviously that's wrong, because in this scenario AI is literally just out competing humans. The extra resources aren't "wasted." They're used to create more technocapital (AI reproducing itself)
I've written a bunch about this and so have other people. The smart and serious anti AI people have understood this in principle for a long time, for decades
The good news is that we're a long ways from AI being anywhere near this capable. Our current form of AI, LLMs, are mostly just gonna shit everything up and exacerbate the societal problems we already have
