The executive director of Laconia Motorcycle Week Association, Charlie St. Clair, has died from injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash, according to a Facebook post on the Laconia Motorcycle Week page.

The post says St. Clair died on Saturday from heart failure after sustaining severe injuries on Aug. 4 while riding through Avon, Ohio. He was being treated at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland.

"Charlie is incredibly fortunate to have so many friends and family. To everyone who called, prayed, sent messages/cards, and surrounded Charlie with so much love and positive energy, we cannot thank you enough for being there for him and for us," the post reads.

St. Clair has been the executive director of Laconia Motorcycle Week since 1991. He was a New Hampshire state representative at the time of his death, representing District 5 in Laconia. He was also a member of the Laconia Planning Board.

He was inducted into the Sturgis Museum Hall of Fame in 2008 and was awarded “Promoter of the Year” by the American Motorcyclist Association in 2017.

Laconia Motorcycle Week Association said it will be sharing details on when services for St. Clair will be held.
