The subordinate was masturbating and we were talking dirty and then suddenly I turn around and BAM my wife is standing there. I hung up and refused to tell her who I was on the call with. She tried to steal my phone in the middle of the night. I had to take her phone from her to eventually get her to give it back to me. She was sobbing on the ground asking what she and the baby were going to do. I felt like a POS. A few days later I talked to my buddy and told him I was just gonna tell her it was the coworker and that she called me late about work but ended up spiraling into a longer conversation. He said man that’s a terrible idea she’s never gonna believe you were talking to a hot coworker at 1am while drunk about work and acting sketchy about it. Then he said just say it was him and he’ll corroborate. Thank god he talked me off that ledge. It worked because she accepted it initially but she’s already started asking questions about it and I don’t have the call logs to prove the call happened. I’m going to buy a new iPhone soon and claim my entire call log history was wiped.
But real talk, the bigger problem is I don’t think I’m willing to cut off the new relationship, and the relationship with wife has deteriorated significantly. She’s hard to be around. It just seems like only a matter of time that it blows up again and this time probably much worse. |

Even though I am opposed to it, I can at least somewhat understand a guy fucking a random chick on the side and never seeing her again. But having a "relationship" with a long distance (LJL) "work wife" is just sad.
You complain that your wife is being difficult and distant, meanwhile you are acting like a drug addict sneaking around on her and staying up on the phone all hours of the night like a teenage girl. All while your wife is pregnant with your child.
I believe in the previous thread that you said you're 43 years old. You are clearly just seeking self-destruction on account of your age and the fact that you have your (presumably) first kid on the way. You feel that your old life is over and you are effectively blowing it up on the way out. The reason I continue to think this has to be bullshit is because this level of homotional short sighted thinking is something I would only expect from a woman.
If this really is true, I think you know deep down that the moment you tell your wife the situation you are going to sour on the co-worker completely. So in essence you have made a mess for no reason other than you have no impulse control and needed a mid-life ego boost. Sad! |
