Then allowing the dems to shit the bed and the GOP to move towards a more sensible, less jewish version of itself for 2028.

Best-case scenario with this election is that the GOP gets BTFO in the House--so there are huge headlines about voter backlash, TRUMP gets chastened for this iran shit, and the Dems feel confident in nominating a DSA filipina transwoman of size in 2028--but they eek out as many of these senate races as possible.
People have gotten used to every new potus election bringing in a trifecta, but that's historically anomalous and the GOP can absolutely put the Senate out of reach for *2028* right now. Which is good because the Dems are in existential danger with upcoming reapportionment (https://vhdshf2oms2wcnsvk7sdv3so.blob.core.windows.net/thearp-media/images/PEP_Estimates_2025_2030proj_3year.max-1000x1000.jpg ) + non-VRA-fettered redistricting coming on the heels of a 2030 midterm that'll be a backlash to the Dem potus (in this hypo) and redden up state legislatures. If the dems get a charismatic potus + a trifecta, they're going to launch a "reform" based platform of state additions, court packing, and redistricting reform--and I believe they'll actually do it this time, because it's do-or-die now. |
