Taibbi is a gen-xer and his formative era was libertarian liberalism, which is an admirable position. The peak of a good hearted yet pragmatic liberalism. Now it's no country for old gen-x liberals and he's struggling with it. Even if his investigative reporting and writings are solid and when you get down to it, extremely truthful and eager in its effort to be even handed that's rare these days. But it is now shouting into a paper bag while no one listens, unfortunately. |
