He points out that by the standards conservatives set, there is no basis on which to oppose Indians at a UT football game.
"What is the problem with this? One might say. And a lot of people are going to say, well, you know, the problem is that they're not assimilated. I don't know. They look pretty assimilated to me. How much more assimilated can it get? Look, they're doing the they're doing the Texas Horn. They got the orange shirt on. One of them's even wearing a cowboy hat. They look pretty assimilated to me. I'm sure they speak English. I don't think they're woke. I'm sure they're probably broing down. I'm sure they're going to the frat party afterward and broing down. I mean, what could you even say is the problem?”
He goes on to explain what’s really going on:
“It's racial. The problem is they're Indians. That, yes, that is the problem…. everybody recognizes you go to a UT college football game in Texas, this is a place that should be white people. That's what a Texan is. That is what is appropriate in the occasion. But it's all Indians there. They're not Texans. That's not America. Everybody recognizes the problem is racial.”
On conservative hypocrisy: “And the problem is people don't even feel comfortable articulating this. In their heart of hearts, in their bones, with their eyes, they know what the problem is.”
This is much more honorable than Charlie Kirk-style lying about what is motivating you.

and anyway pre-1965 is was just a different kind of segregation. english hated irish, dutch hated germans, germans hated poles, everyone hated italians, and jews schemed against them all. none of them were "white," and none of them wanted to live together. |
