I do think it is the fact that tech has become clown world and wherever big tech goes, crazy shitlib clown world BS follows. Austin, for example.
The other factor is that things that started as libertarian and "live and let live" have evolved into SJW fascism. For example, Vermont, Oregon, Ben and Jerry's, are now all in on hating on anyone not a shitlib, loving BLM and antifa, hating guns, etc. |

I just realized that libertarianism opens the door for people to import voters that will ensure that your rights go away and you end up with left-wing fascism. So you have to value freedom and liberties while knowing when to clamp down on efforts to exploit those freedom to fuck you and your people over.
Oh, and I have realized that culture (which, undeniably, is linked to demographics) is probably the most important thing for a country. If you import the millions of people from Pakistan into Slovakia such that the majority of people are Paki, then Slovakia will have Paki culture and not Slovak culture. Pretty quickly it will get Paki laws, governance, policing, etc.
Also, XO has killed my belief in libertarianism. Some people are just shitheads that will abuse freedom. |

Back when I lived in MN we got Jesse Ventura as governor. CCW got implemented. We used to have this public insurance that was insanely easy to get. That got gutted because it was too expensive. Yeah, I agree, there was a liberal streak in terms of benefits generally due to the fact that it was heavily Scandinavian, but I don't remember any SJW BS. Yes, Minnesota nice was a huge thing, but I don't think that is really lib or conservative. Yeah, there were shitlib areas like Uptown, around Lake Calhoun, etc. but I don't ever remember it being anything like I see today. And again, the demographics haven't changed enough to explain it. |

This helped Harding win a YUGE landslide in 1920, racking up insane margins in the midwest and west and even winning Dem strongholds such as NYC. Coolidge followed up in 1924 and to a lesser extent Hoover 1928 (Catholic Al Smith as Dem nominee helped Dems recover in the Catholic heavy urban areas of the northeast). The GOP was on BEAST mode until the fucking Great Depression.
It's also important to note that CA has a high German %, hence one reason why it was a GOP stronghold until the 90s. Its Scandi population is only 3.6%, which surprised me given how many Scandi-looking blondes are in SoCal. But those girls are probably German descent or transplants (big Scandi transplant population in LA).
