Nine people killed in Bekkersdal tavern shooting
Police say unknown gunmen also randomly shot people in the street.
A mass shooting at a tavern in Bekkersdal in the West Rand has resulted in the death of nine people. Several others were left injured.
Police spokesperson, Brigadier Athlenda Mathe, said the shooting occurred at KwaNoxolo Tavern in the Tambo section of Bekkersdal.
She said some victims were randomly shot in the street by unknown gunmen.
