Jews want (need?) to sing on the Sabbath. But they don't want to sing off-key. And they aren't supposed to do any work. That means they aren't supposed to use any instruments, or even a tuning fork.
BUT!
There are certain old Bulova watches that emit a hum, because the watch movement utilizes a tuning fork powered by a battery. And Jews using this hum as a reference for what key to be in DOESN'T COUNT as doing work. Somehow.

I have to say, out of all the ways Jews think they are tricking God, this is probably the most ridiculous.
They could play things safe & sing a little off-key in order to not piss off God. But no, they track down esoteric watches that were discontinued decades ago and just... hope they're not pissing off God?
