So you cannot retire on $600,000 thinking you are just going to jet back to the US whenever you need and go in and out of bangkok whenever you are bored. However if you want to stay in a lesser known area or maybe possibly Pattaya you can do it. I think you'd been hella bored in lesser known areas unless you have a grand plan to open an airbnb place with your thai wife and have a kid. And living in Pattaya without a lot of money would be frustrating because of the prevalence of sex everything, which would be a reason for going there. I would wait until I had $2 mil before doing it so I could have some fun and not feel constricted. Definitely you would have a better life than in US. and who stays in hotels during retirement? u rent a furking apt long term which even in BKK u can do under 500 a month
ljl at pretneding 600k versus 2m is a big diff in furking TH, u can make do with 600k, aving 2m isnt goin to maek it magically that much nicer |
