The Q7 and Cayenne are on the same platform, the Macan and Q5 are on the same platform, their EVs are on the same platform and basically the same car with minor differences. Porsches are also far more connected to the road from a driver feel and engagement perspective, whereas BMWs have become extremely numb. Sure, many BMWs are fast, but you feel nothing driving them.
Strangely enough, the most engaging driver’s cars today primarily come from Porsche or Japan. |

Generally it feels like you can “feel” what the car is doing and where it has grip going into and coming out of corners. If it has a manual transmission, the shifter is engaging and the clutch point is clear. The steering should give real feedback based on the road and not just feel like a sim rig or totally fake.
IMO the most engaging cars also are fun to drive without needing to go 90+ mph. |
