Since it seems like "consumer sentiment" is a major driver of this economy, would it actually be harmful if Trump just orders them to report every month that we added 1M jobs, and inflation is at an annual rate of 0.5%?

I guess at some point it'd become implausible, but you could probably do this for 6-9 months, at least.
