40 years old and had no idea this was a country. I figured it was some third world city somewhere in Afghanistan or India.

Is it wealthier than India? Are most the people we see here in the US Indian or Bangladesh? Is it the same thing? Accents different?

It's Muslim India like Pakistan.

It's where your t shirts come from. We don't have many in the us because they are too poor and stupid to be able to leave so they just fuck and multiply.

it used to be one of the world's richest trading regions in antiquity because it included the bay of bengal and the outlet of the ganges. romans valued items from there. they kind of got permafucked after the 1200's because they became an islamic region due to invasions from afghanistan and northeastern india. unlike other indian regions, they didn't re-hinduize or re-buddhist themselves (like parts of nearby burma), which means that when india was partitioned in the 1940's they became an extremely awkward exclave of pakistan.

then they became independent via a destructive war in the 1970's, and have been mostly poor and overcrowded since then.
