- do you have a "guy" (Byblos Benefits) where you just say "hey I'm coming ___ dates this summer" and they handle it, or are you just booking on the open market through Virtuoso or whatever every time
- do you tip housekeeping and other random staff every day or what (I recall at some elittte euro hotels I would always leave $$$ but half the time the cleaning staff wouldn't take it. But doormen and stuff always did)
- what's ur laundry situation and how much shit do you travel with for these long trips |
Date: July 24th, 2026 9:59 AM Author: The Soo CR SUMMER JUGGERNAUT 1. Cannot book open market. Rooms never go on public sale for second half of July. All repeat guests. I tell my travel agent my dates and he deals with reservations and holds the dates and the specific room I like for me. I have a specific guest relations woman who takes care of me there also. At this point I know everyone working there though.
2. I tip the concierge staff frequently because they do a ton of work for me as we are always moving bookings around and changing # of people and they do all my bookings for the entire summer even when I am not in the hotel. I’ll tip porters, valet and bar staff but not housekeeping.
3 For clothing I brought a checked luggage piece for hanging clothes and another duffel w my scuba gear and stuff that can get wrinkled like polos, etc…i’m at Messardiere now and they do 10 pieces of laundry a day/free, so they’ve cleaned my entire wardrobe for the last part of summer. |
